J. Pleasant Hines Park
Formerly known as Pool ParkJ. Pleasant Hines Park is a popular recreation space that has something for everyone! It features a lighted basketball court, playground with a kid-friendly zip line, picnic shelter with grill, and a large open field that’s great for baseball, soccer, or just having fun. A trail also runs through the area for walking and exercise.
A highlight of the park is the seasonal Splash Pad. It's free and open to the public seven days a week from late spring through early fall. Hours are 12 PM to 6 PM.
A covered performance stage that makes this a great place for community events like concerts, outdoor movies, and youth programs. For a nominal fee, the stage and greenspace can be reserved for private events. See Picnic Shelters or call 910-692-2463 for more information.
The park can be conveniently accessed from S. Henley St., just off W. Morganton Road near the Southern Pines Sports Park. Parking is available on-site.
Joe R. Wynn Swimming Pool: Since 1964, the community has enjoyed the seasonal pool. It features a large 3,000+ square foot main pool and a smaller fenced wading pool for toddlers. When open, the pool has a bathhouse and lifeguards on duty. Click here for hours and details on the pool.
