Disc Golf
This 18 Hole natural Disc Golf Course is located in Reservoir Park southeast of the 99 acre lake. The course winds thru the trees, following the edge of the lake. The entrance to the course can be found up a flight of stairs near the center of the parking lot; follow the trail left--just past the junction with White Hall Trail. The course can also be accessed from the restroom area.
Disc Golf is played much like traditional golf using a flying disc. As with golf, the object is to complete each hole with the fewest throws. The gold disc is thrown from a tee area to a target goal (in this case, a chain basket on a pole). As a player progress, each consecutive throw is made from the spot where the previous throw landed. The trees, shrubs and terrain in and around the fairways provide challenging obstacles for the golfer. Discs are available for a free three-day checkout from our Recreation Office (910-692-2463). Rules, a map of the course and a score card are attached on this page.
