In an effort to support our businesses that are attempting to maintain staff and provide curbside delivery of goods, and in the interest of safety for their staff and convenience for customers, Mayor Carol Haney has declared the following effective 03/20/20 at 5pm and until further Notice:
1. The Public Parking Spaces located along the curb fronting businesses in the 100 and 200 blocks of NE Broad St. and 100 block of NW Broad Street are hereby designated as Pick-up and Delivery Zones.
2. Businesses in other portions of Town providing curbside delivery may “cone off” up to two spaces in front of their establishment for this purpose.
Town Parking Lots, Parking spaces located along the tracks, and parallel spaces in other blocks not dedicated under Sections 1 and 2 for loading purposes remain available to employees and visitors of the Southern Pines downtown area.
The Town appreciates adherence to this order and asks that citizens continue to support our local establishments as best they can given their own circumstances and challenges during this difficult period. We will continue to release any updates to the media and make them available on our website www.southernpines.net in addition to the various Facebook pages specific to a number of Town Departments.
