[ARCHIVED] Imagination Library Provides Free Books for Children

Imagination Library Logo2

Moore County parents and guardians of children ages birth to five are now eligible to register for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Once a registration is entered and processed, each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed to the home in the child's name. The goal is to make sure every family with young children in the community has books to read and enjoy at home. This program is provided at no cost to parents through funding provided by the North Carolina General Assembly.

Southern Pines Public Library, a community partner in Growing Moore Readers, is pleased to support Partners for Children & Families, Moore County’s local Smart Start affiliated agency, which is leading this effort locally. Library computers are available for parents to register their children, and Library staff are promoting and assisting with the sign up for the program.  Growing Moore Readers unites families and  community partners in programs like the Imagination Library, to make every moment a brain building moment for children in our community. The collaborative works to  ensure all children in Moore County achieve the most important predictor of long term success—grade-level reading by the end of third grade.
