[ARCHIVED] Questions on Your Recent Property Revaluation?

Property Tax Re-Eval Web Graphic

The Moore County Tax Department recently mailed property revaluation notices to all property owners in the county. These notices confirmed the assessed value of each property based on an effective date of January 1, 2023. The assessed value, when calculated with the tax rates set by the Moore County Board of Commissioners and the Southern Pines Town Council, determine the amount of property taxes that each owner will pay to the county and town.

Moore County has provided a number of resources to assist property owners with questions and concerns they may have with regard to the revaluation notices. This brochure provides details on the revaluation process, next steps, workshops that are available for taxpayers to meet with the county tax department, and the appeals process. The tax department is also available by phone at 910-947-2255.

If you were unable to attend the Tax Workshop on April 15th, please see the presentation slides and view the YouTube meeting recording.

Please note, the Town of Southern Pines does not determine the assessed values of properties located in Southern Pines; the Moore County Tax Department completes this work for all properties in Moore County. Any specific questions about the process or filing an appeal should be directed to the Moore County Tax Department.
