School’s out, the holidays are here, and the Town of Southern Pines staff are throwing a party downtown—our holiday gift to the community we love!
Inspired by the joy we shared this summer during Operation: Community Cool-Off, we’re bringing that same energy, creativity, and togetherness to kick off winter break in a merry & bright way. Here’s what your TOSP team has planned:
🐾 Holiday Dog Parade: Led by the Southern Pines Public Library team and Caring Hearts for Canines, this festive walk features adoptable dogs dressed in their holiday best—hoping to find a new home for the holidays. Bring your leashed, well-behaved dog to join the parade along Broad Street, lined with decorated Christmas trees. Enjoy photo ops, plus dog treat and water stations along the route!
📚 Free Books & Dog Bandanas: Find the SPPL wagon and pick out a free book to take home, along with festive dog bandanas for your four-legged family members.
🎤 Christmas Street Corner Karaoke: It’s back! Join the TOSP admin team and DJ Jazzy in front of the train station Christmas tree. Sing your heart out—or just enjoy the show! Thank you to the CVB for sponsoring this crowd favorite.

🎄Parks & Rec Holiday Craft Station: Make a holiday stocking and grab treats or bandanas for your pup.
🚛 Name the Street Sweeper! Every team member deserves a fun name—including our street sweeper! Stop by, snap a photo, and submit your name idea. The winning name will be chosen by the TOSP team and branded on the truck.
🐶 Fill the Truck: Pet Supply Drive: Help support Caring Hearts for Canines by donating pet supplies. Drop off items in front of the Finance & Billing Department (next to the Post Office) and help dogs in our community find loving homes.
