Due to the federal government shutdown, SNAP benefits are scheduled to stop on Saturday, November 1 for households in our area unless federal funding is restored. The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (FBCENC) has put out a “most‐needed items” list to help food drives and donation efforts.

Trinity AME Zion Church and the Southern Pines Land and Housing Trust are hosting a food drive to support local families during this time of need.
Donations accepted at Trinity Community Outreach Center (TCOC) at 972 W. Pennsylvania Ave.

They’re asking for volunteers and bag donations—please bring your own reusable bags if possible. Certain limits may apply to ensure all families are served.
