NCDOT has fully closed a section of W. Pennsylvania Ave. around Mechanic St. for storm-related repairs. The closure is expected to last approximately one week, with reopening tentatively scheduled for July 21.
We know that Pennsylvania Ave. is an important connector as you travel through Southern Pines. We suggest one of the following detour routes:
S. Carlisle St. to Brucewood Rd. to W. Morganton Rd. (residential – please drive respectfully)
S. Stephens St. to W. Iowa Ave. to S. Henley St. to W. Morganton Rd. (residential – please drive respectfully)
US-1 to Midland Rd. or W. Morganton Rd.
Midland Rd. to the traffic light at W. Pennsylvania Ave. and PeeDee Rd.
