The Southern Pines Town Council needs a citizen to fill a vacant council seat that expires with the November 2025 election. This person will be appointed by the Council in early 2024 and is expected to attend all meetings and vote on important Town business.
Comprising four councilmembers and a mayor, the Southern Pines Town Council is our non-partisan governing board. Members are elected at large to four-year terms, with elections staggered every 2 years. This appointee will complete the final 2 years of Taylor Clement’s term. She was recently elected mayor and will be sworn in on December 5, leaving her current Council seat vacant.
The Council holds meetings each month which are open to the public. Public participation is welcome and encouraged during business meetings. The Council sets the meeting schedule.
