North Carolina Digital Library (NCDL) 

The Southern Pines Public Library along with other libraries across the state are working together to provide access to thousands of digital media through North Carolina Digital Library (NCDL). Download eBooks, Audiobooks, Videos, and Magazines to your computer, smartphone, tablet, or eReader device. 

The Kids Collection includes eBooks, Audiobooks, and Videos appropriate for children. 

NC Kids Digital Library 

The North Carolina Public Library Directors Association (NCPLDA) together with OverDrive and the state of North Carolina have created a digital resource sharing service. Over 3,700 eBooks, Audiobooks, Videos, and Read-Alongs are now available for kids’ pre-K through 4th grade on NC Kids Digital Library.

NC Live offers 203,337 eBooks and 2,336 eAudiobooks from the following providers:

Home Grown eBooks Nonfiction, fiction, and poetry from North Carolina authors and publishers.

RBdigital Language learning, history, biography, classic literature, and popular fiction audio and eBooks.

ABC-CLIO History and literature eBooks including many popular collections.

eBook Central Authoritative and scholarly eBooks supporting student and faculty research.

Open Library 

Open access book index with some freely available eBooks. Users may borrow up to five titles for two weeks using a browser or as a PDF/ePub file.

Project Gutenburg 

Open access eBooks available for borrowing. The collection specializes on older titles for which U.S. copyright has expired.
