About the Committee
The Town of Southern Pines Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee advises the Southern Pines Town Council regarding the Bike and Sidewalk Plan. This committee also sets priorities for new facilities or enhancements of existing routes in the Bike and Sidewalk Plan.
Other responsibilities include review of town ordinances with respect to pedestrian and bicycle requirements and recommendation of enhancements or changes. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee promotes walking and biking as alternative modes of transportation with emphasis on education of school age children on safe, effective bicycling and walking.
