CAMPS
For your convenience and to help eliminate confusion, once the day camp balance due date passes (on Friday 10 days prior to the first day of camp), new registrations for said camp will be accepted beginning at 12:00 pm (noon) on the Monday following the due date.This will give our office time to process our on line report.
Recapping, if you are on the wait list for a camp or simply decide that you want to register for camp at the last minute or forgot to pay your balance by the due date, new registrations and payments will NOT be accepted before 12:00 pm on that Monday.

Summer Explorers Camp
(5-8 and 8-13 - must have attended Kindergarten)
Play is our thing and all children are encourgaged to participate. Our commitment includes develo0ping campers' life skills through group activities, exposure to diverse athletic games, creative and educational experiences. Participants will take part in a wide range of activities which include swimming, arts & crafts, environmental education, dance, athletic games and more. Emphasis is placed on having fun, trying new things, teamwork, learning by doing and enjoying the process of discovery.
Space is limited, so early registration is suggested - a $20r / $40nr non-refundable deposit (which will be applied to the weekly fee) is required to hold your spot for each session. A one-time registration fee of $10r /$20nr (per child) is required to hold your child's space in the program in addition to the camp fee /deposit. Add $10 to fees received after the due date (spaces are not guaranteed after the Camp Fee Due Date)l.

Five Fridays Summer Day Camp

Designed for children attending Year Round School. Play is our thing and all children are encouraged to participate. Activities will include: swimming, arts & crafts, games, nature & science, and much more. Add $10 to fees received after the Balance Due Date of July 5th. Spaces are not guaranteed after the Balance Due Date. Early drop off is available from 7:40am - 8:00am for an extra fee of $10r /$20nr.
5-8 years will drop off and p/u at the Southern Pines Recreation Center.

Kinderfun
3-6 years, must be potty trained)
Sing Alongs, Music, Dramatics, Art, Group Dynamics, Fun, Play. New activities will enchant everyone. A one-time registration fee of $10r / $20 nr (per child) is required to hold your child's space in the program in addition to the regular camp fees. Ms. Brenda and Ms. Levone instruct. Please bring a small snack each day for your child. *This project received support and the Arts Council of Moore County with funds from the North Carolina Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Cultural Resourses, and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

June 17-21 Ocean Adventures -FULL
Come sign your kids up for a week of fun and let them explore the mysteries of the ocean world through crafts, books, and songs. Does your child love ferocious sharks, little mermaids or Nemo? Your child is sure to have fun learning about the fascinating world that exists under the sea.
June 24-28 Fantastic Fun Facts About Nature - FULL
Learn fun and interesting facts about rocks, plants, bugs and birds. We will explore nature through books, crafts and songs. We will even go exploring around the Campbell House grounds looking for bugs, plants, flowers, worms and butterflies. Kids will make yummy spider cookies that they will enjoy eating. Come enjoy nature with us.
July 1-5 Musical Jamboree - FULL
(no camp 7/4) Fee: $35r / $70nr
Children ages 4-6 will enjoy singing, dancing and making a different musical instrument each day. If your child loves to dance and sing then let them come join the fun. Together we will create a camp song that your children will help to create. We will also play many fun games that they are sure to enjoy.
July 8-12 It's Raining Science - FULL
Launch a rocket, make a coke explode, a volcano erupt and even make snow (yes, we know it is summer), homemade worms and so much more! We will also learn fun, interesting facts about weather. What makes it rain or snow? What causes thunder and lightning? Each day will be packed with experiments and facts that are amazing and fun. Over 20 experiments in all!
July 15-9 Pinkalicious Princess
What fun we will have creating a fantasy world where dreams really do come true. Every girl will have a blast dressing up in costumes, putting on make-up and acting like their favorite princess. Other activities include princess games, crafts, dancing and singing. In our world anything is possible. Come join the fun and become a princess for the week.

Aqua Nuts Swim Camp
Teaching children water safety for life at Southern Pines Pool. Promoting safety, learning, and trust through swimming. Camps will be designed around each child's personal level of swimming pool abilities and comfort. Depending on how quickly your child adapts, he/she may learn and perform the following:
Safely enters and exits the water, Floats on front and back, Effectively doggy paddles or freestyles, Survival swims the length of pool, Breaststroke Basics, Blow bubbles, Treads water or short amount of time, Begins elementary backstroke, Head first entry; kneeling & standing dive, Side Stroke Basics, Submerges completely, Flutter kicks on front and back glide, Dolphin kicks on front and back glide, and Can swim in deep water.

Create works of Art using everyday recycled items! Campers will experimnent with different mediums and materials as they allow their imagination to soar with "one of a kind" pieces of artistic creations.Local Artist, Carl Lamb, will lead the camp. Clay Camp
(5 years - Teens / Adult)
Get your hands dirty while you play and create in mud! Mold, shape, design, and paint using stoneware clay. Make coil baskets, pinch pots, animals, people, and more. Learn sculptural and painting techniques to capture essential details. Monday & Tuesday: hand build pieces from clay; Wednesday: painting techniques on tiles; No Class Thursday; Friday Paint clay. Fire Academy Camp for Kids
(7-13 years)
Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a firefighter? Southern Pines Fire Department Youth Fire Academy will train you in the operations and tasks that a firefighter needs to know: participte in hands-on fire safety activities, teamwork activities, fire extinguisher training, life safety lessons for your entire family. Camp will create an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the job, as well as, the dedication of the firefighters while you get to know some of your Southern Pines Firefighters.

Jr. Camp Counselor
(ages 14-16)
Too young to get a real job? Too old to sit around the house watching cartoons? Not interested in cleaning the house or picking up the yard? Get involved in great volunteer opportunity that offers on-the-job training in planning, set-up, and clean-up of games and activities, helping children in a fun atmosphere, and a chance to work along side and under the supervision of great instructors. Youth Activities
Walking School Bus
(Children attending Southern Pines Elementary School (SPES)
Begining March 13, 2013. FREE
Children will meet at SPES Gym on Wednesdays at 2:30 pm and walk to to the Campbell House Parking Lot (482 E. Connecticut Avenue near t-ball fields) with an expected arrival time of 2:50pm (or so).
Adult volunteers are needed to help supervise and walk with the children. Please contact Sue Gillis if you are interested.

The Mad Scientist Camp
(Ages 7-11

Farmers' Market to Lunch Cooking Camp
(Ages 8-11)
From meeting the farmers and selecting fresh food stuffs to cooking up tasty treats, campers will gain frist hand knowledge of where their food comes from. Campers will explore the farmers market, local food specialty shops and grocery store. Co-sponsored by The Moore County Farmer's Market by graciously providing the ingredients for this camp.

Olden times come alive as campers experience life on a nineteenth century farm.
