The Public Works department provides engineering services, oversight for soil erosion and sediment control, solid waste collection and recycling services, water and sewer services, and street maintenance.

Included in the Public Works Division are Engineering, Waste Management and Recycling, Streets, Water and Sewer, and the Water Plant.

 

Town of Southern Pines Celebrates National Public Works Week With Expo

In honor of those who serve the public in Public Works roles, the Town of Southern Pines Public Works Department hosted its 5th Vehicle and Equipment Expo on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Public Works Complex.  Approximately 120 second grade students and 12 staff from Southern Pines Primary School attended the event.  This event offers school students a chance to have fun while learning about Public Works in their community.
