Council Seeks Applications for UDO Stakeholder Steering Committee
The Town Council is requesting that individuals express interest in serving on a Stakeholder Steering Committee to participate in the revision of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). The Town of Southern Pines has retained the services of the Planning Works consulting firm in its effort to revise this nearly twenty-four year old document that controls all design and land-use regulations for the community. This undertaking is being performed in an effort to streamline and update the existing code in addition to ensuring its compliance with, and ability to implement the goals of, the recently adopted Comprehensive Long-Range Plan.
Please indicate interest in serving no later than Wednesday, November 23, 2011 so that appointments may be made by the Town Board at their regular Work Session on the 28th. An initial commitment to attend meetings on December 5th and 6th is mandatory for consideration to be placed on the Committee, as well as agreement to the responsibilities of this committee. A minimum of one member of the certain Boards and Commissions will need to be appointed.
Whether ultimately selected or not, a number of opportunities will exist to participate in the process. If interested, please express your interest via e-mail to email@example.com . If you are not currently serving on an appointed Board or Commission, please also complete an application (also available at the Town’s Administrative Offices, 125 SE Broad Street.) Applications should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or delivered or mailed to 125 SE Broad Street.
