Southern Pines Considers Curbside Collection of Solid Waste
The Town Council is considering a change from backdoor garbage collection to curbside garbage collection with the upcoming contract which will begin July 1, 2013. If chosen to collect solid waste at the curbside, customers will be provided a 90 gallon roll out cart to carry the solid waste to the curb for collection.
There may be a possibility that if one would like to continue to receive back door collection, an additional fee would be charged by the contractor to provide this service. The additional fee, administered by the contractor, not the Town, might be in the range of $3.00 to $5.00 per month for the additional service.
