The Non-Resident Membership Form (PDF) can be printed, filled out, and brought to our offices. This and the appropriate yearly payment will allow non-resident families, all members living in the same household, to participate in programs at the resident rate.
Online payment of Recreation fees is now available.

After School Program
(ages youth in grades k-8th)
Do something fun after school, plus get your homework done. Education, recreation, and socialization hit the spot after a long day of school. Begins the first day of school. Following the Southern Pines Elementary School Traditional Calendar. See Registration for full details.

Junior Camp Counselors
(ages 14 & 15 years)
Too young to get a real job? Too old to sit around the house watching cartoons? Not interested in cleaning the house or picking up the yard? Get involved in a great volunteer opportunity that offers on-the-job training in planning, set-up, and clean-up of games & activities, helping children in a fun atmosphere, and a chance to work along side and under the supervision of great instructors. Internship Overview
The Southern Pines Recreation and Parks Department has designed and implemented a 12 week internship program that provides students with a well-rounded experience which introduces the intern to all aspects of a diverse and comprehensive parks and recreation program. This provides the students with an opportunity to put what they have learned to work. It is a "hands on" experience that reflects what park and recreation professionals do on the job to ensure the necessary and enhanced services to the community.

Play is our thing and all children are encouraged to participate. Our commitment includes developing campers' life skills through group activities, exposure to diverse athletic games, creative and educational experiences. Participants will take part in a wide range of activities which include swimming, art & crafts, games, nature & science, free time, field trips, and much more. Space is limited, so early registration is suggested- a $10r / $20nr non-refundable deposit (which is applied to the weekly fee) is required to hold your spot for each session. A one-time registration fee of $10r/$20nr (per child) is required to register your child. Add $10 to fees received after the Camp Fee due date (see registration for those dates). Clay Camp
(ages 5 years through teens)
Get your hands dirty while you play and create in mud! Mold, shape, design, and paint using stoneware clay. Make coil baskets, pinch pots, animals, people, and more. Learn sculptural and painting techniques to capture essential details. Whether it's your first time getting your hands dirty or you're a seasoned pro, have fun creating your very own masterpiece with instructor, Ms. Karen.
Monday & Tuesday: hand build pieces from clay; Wednesday: painting techniques on tiles; No Class Thursday; Friday: Paint Clay.

KinderFun Camps
Sing Alongs, Music, Dramatics, Art, Group Dynamincs, Fun, Play. Put them together and you have much more than a camp, you have a Special Summer Experience for your child. New activities will enchant everyone. Space is limited, so early registration is suggested. A one time registration fee of $10r / $20nr (per child) is required. Shake, Rattle and Roll
(ages 3-6 years)
Children ages 4-6 will enjoy singing, dancing and making creative instruments that shake, rattle and roll. Children will pick their favorite songs and dances from the camp and perform them for parents on Friday. If your child loves to dance and sing then let them come join the fun. How Does Your Garden Grow?
(6-9 years, must have completed 1st grade)
Budding gardeners learn about plants from a worms eye view; soil enrichment (squirmy worms), hydrology(getting muddy), see germination (fast forward), seasonal harvest, getting to know the native plants of the Sandhills and eating with color. Dig in the dirt, Plant seeds, Harvest, Cook, and Eat. Even picky eaters will enjoy using crock pots; vegetable soup, corn bread and berry cobbler; and toss up salad and homemade salad dressing! American Etiquette Idols
(ages 8-13 years)
It's party time! What to wear? What to say? How to behave? Thanks to Peggy Post and Granny Edith all basis are sure to be covered. It is etiquette that encompasses the timeless rules from the 19th century and applies them to the crazy 21st century teeming with cell phones, fast food and greater independence. The question is can etiquette keep up? Find out on Friday when the girls and boys throw their very own theme party they have created and organized during the week. There will be judges, so remember don't talk with your mouth full and please leave your cell phones at home. Ms. Ellen Marcus instructs.

Football Cheerleading

Re-energized, Re-vamped, and REEAALY Fun! We have pumped new energy into cmap under the direction of the Pinecrest High School Cheerleaders. Cheerleading promotes a healthier and more physically active lifestyle. Learn arm motion techniques, proper posture, jumps and kicks, tumbling, stunting, side line cheers, dances and more. Memorize cheers and master the art of performing them. Youth interested in cheering for the Fall Youth Tackle Football League should attend camp. Adult volunteers are needed to help lead Fall cheerleading squads-no cheering experience necessary.
11-12 Year old girls will be grouped on a Senior Level Squad.

Movie in the Park
The Movie in the Park series will take place Fridays; June 26, July 17, August 21 and September 11. It begins at 7:30 pm (Movie starts at 8:15pm) and lasts as long as the movie. The event is FREE. There will be food vendors on site; however, you may bring food. For the June movie the sponsors are: Southern Pines Recreation & Parks, Southern Pines Business Association, Best Western (Pinehurst Inn), Muirfield Broadcasting, Inc. Rod, Reel and Tackle Loaner Program
Kids who don't have parents who fish or money to buy equipment can check out a rod, reel and tackle to give "America's < Sport" a try. Zebco 33 classic rods and reels will be provided for check out, along with tackle and a how-to-fish booklet. Parents must fill out a registraton form then a check out card will be issued.
