Water Treatment Services
Operation of the Water Treatment Plant is contracted by United Water Environmental Service, Inc. Raw water comes from Drowning Creek and is pumped to a 20 MG raw water reservoir at the Water Treatment site before being treated. Treated water is pumped to the Town and into elevated storage tanks. While the plant is capable of producing 11 MGD or more, it is limited by its current permit to produce a maximum of 8 MGD. The Town sells water to Camp Mackall, Moore County, Carolina Water for Whispering Pines, and the Town of Pinebluff. We have repeatedly won recognition in various water taste contests conducted by water quality professional associations in North Carolina.
