Moore County Community Read - Serena

Have you read Serena? Southern Pines Public Library, as part of the Moore County Area Libraries (MCAL) group, is sponsoring a Community Read, encouraging citizens to read the same book, take part in discussions, lectures, and other events. 

The book selected is Serena by Ron Rash, a novel set in a lumber camp in the NC Mountains of 1929. The culminating event for the Community Read will be a luncheon and performance by Grammy winner David Holt on Friday, March 26, from 12:00-2:00pm. Mr. Holt will present traditional music and stories of the Appalachian Mountains. Tickets are available at the Palustris Festival website: www.palustrisfestival.com.
