Southern Pines Lifts Mandatory Water Conservation
6/29/2012
Town Manager Reagan Parsons has lifted the mandatory water conservation measures. The recent rain fall has caused the Town's raw water source, Drowning Creek, to exceed the flow that required previous conservation orders. However, the Town is still requesting voluntary compliance with the following water conservation measures.
That the irrigation of established lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers or plants be limited to three (3) days per week. Even numbered addresses irrigate on even number days and odd numbered addresses irrigate on odd numbered days.
Do not establish new plantings
Do not wash motor vehicles except at commercial car washes
Do no wash down exterior paved surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks, etc.
Only refill swimming pools or ornamental fountains
With the extreme heat and the forecast for limited rainfall, all need to be reminded that the conservation status could revert back to a mandatory Stage 2 Warning in the near future.
