Administration Division

Welcome
The Southern Pines Police Department (SPPD) is committed to ensuring a safe and inclusive environment throughout our service area by utilizing community-based policing strategies. These strategies are built on a commitment to service, professionalism, protection, and dedication. In addition to these values, we proudly profess that fairness, integrity, and community partnerships are key components to our success.

This website, along with social media outlets such as Facebook, NIXLE, and others will be used to facilitate increased collaboration and communication between the SPPD and the community. The SPPD strives to reduce crime, increase safety, and create solutions to challenges affecting all aspects our our residents, visitors, and any other citizen that is within the Town of Southern Pines.

This website is a great resource for anyone seeking information about the SPPD current initiatives and community efforts, as well as contact information, press releases, and recruitment information.

Please check out the website and meet the people who make up the SPPD. Look at the services we provide and consider ways you can join our efforts and help keep your neighborhood, business, or school safe. Learn more about protecting yourself by reviewing the community oriented policing page and consider applying to be a volunteer in one of the many programs or to attend the Citizen’s Police Academy or the High School Police Academy.

Review the crime statistics page to see the trends and see what the Crime Stoppers and victim contact programs are all about. Be observant of suspicious circumstances and call us. Get involved and encourage others to do the same. Simply, get to know us and let us get to know you. Contact us if you would like a presentation at your school, neighborhood, or community meeting or if your group would like to tour the police facility.

The mission of this agency is carried out in the service we provide: day-by-day; call-by-call. Our efforts are geared toward just that, providing professional police services to the community in each interaction we have. So please let us know your needs, concerns, and ideas. If you need a police officer in an emergency, call 911. For nonemergency needs, contact the Southern Pines Police Communications Center at 910-692-7031. For administrative issues, call our administrative offices at 910-692-2732.

On behalf of the SPPD, thank you for visiting.

Sincerely,
Robert Temme
Chief of Police
