Moonlight Hike Mystery Animals of the Evening November 7 (all ages children must be accompanied by an adult) FREE Meet at Weymouth Woods Visitor Center at 6:00 pm. Discover nature by moonlight! Listen to the sounds of the night as you walk along the trail. Co-sponsored by Weymouth Woods
Halloween October 31 (10 years and under! 5:00 pm) Spook, rattle and haunt with the scariest of all. Cute pumpkins and snarling witches are invited to join us for a hauntingly good time featuring edible crafts, games, Halloween bingo, and flashlight egg hunt and more! Come dressed to impress! Downtown Park from 5:00 pm (rain location: Recreation Center).
Owl Prowl Night Hike December 5 (all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult) FREE! 5:30 pm Meet at Weymouth Woods Visitor Center. Stand and listen to the owls that are indigenous to the Sandhills region of North Carolina. Learn about the owls that we may hear or see in North Carolina. As darkness settles around us, we will listen to the nocturnal sounds of owls and try to catch a glimpse of them as they become more active. This fun activity will be followed by hot cocoa. Note: Patience is required as we try to prompt the owls into calling out to us. This outing will include a slow, meandering pace through different Eco tones.

Candy Cane Hunt December 12 (4-10 years) FREE 5:30 pm at Memorial Park and Southern Pines Recreation Center. Bring the whole family for some outdoor holiday fun. Activities include cookie decorating, crafts, games, photos with Santa and of course the Candy Cane Hunt complete with prizes! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Rod, Reel and Tackle Loaner Program Kids who don't have parents who fish or money to buy equipment can check out a rod, reel and tackle to give "America's Sport" a try. Zebco 33 classic rods and reels will be provided for check out. Parents must fill out a registraton form.
