March 6 - Moonlight Hike
All Ages (Children must be accompanied by an adult)    7:00 pm  at  Weymouth Woods Visitor Center    FREE!
Mystery Animals of the Evening. Discover nature by moonlight! Listen to the sounds of the night as you walk along the trail. Co-sponsored by Weymouth Woods.
March 21 - Birds in the Sandhills 2015    --Build your own Birdhouse!
All Ages (Children must be accompanied by an adult)  10:00 am  at  Weymouth Woods  FREE!
Southern Pines Recreation joins forces with Weymouth Woods and Lowes Home Improvement to offer this unique opportunity to learn about our native birds, their habitat, and how to attract them to your own backyard. Start by making your very own birdhouse. Then learn about birds with a brief narrative before enjoying hiking and bird watching. 
      *Youth will need help from an adult; bring your own portable electric screw driver and/or hammer.
      *Although Free, you must pre-register to be sure you have birdhouse materials. Call Southern Pines Recreation Office

March 29 - Egg Hunt  2015
Age 10 years and under   1:30 pm - 2:30pm at the Campbell House Grounds (482 E. Connecticut Ave)  FREE!
Paint a mural, Create make 'n take crafts, Change your look with face painting, and of course, hundreds of eggs, goodies, and prizes will make this a fun family outing. Kids won't want to miss a special appearance by the Easter Bunny. Bring your basket! Egg Hunt starts promptly at 2pm.  Fun in the Train House if raining.

April 6 - Spring Scavenger Hunt 2015
Ages 3 - 12       3:00 pm   at   the Campbell House Playground   FREE!
Follow the clues to eggs, prizes and lots of fun. A fun fitness theme will get participants up and moving as they hoola-hoop, skip rope, juggle and more. Top off the event with make-your-own ice cream sundaes. Rain or Shine.

Join us for an outdoor movie series in the beautiful Downtown Park. (145 SE Broad Street)   FREE!

December 11 - Candy Cane Hunt 2015
Ages 4 - 10        Memorial Park and Southern Pines Recreation Center.
Bring the whole family for some outdoor holiday fun. Activities include cookie decoration, crafts, games, photos with Santa, and or course the Candy Cane Hunt complete with prizes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
